Extremely convenient for my wife and I as we had a few month lull before we moved into our home and needed to store several large items. The drive up units were perfectly accessible and easy to go in and out of. Great security, never felt like it was too crowded to move in / out. Natalie was spectacular to deal with when it came to leasing our unit and canceling our unit lease once moved out. With so many things going on during a move, I forgot to call to confirm that we had in fact moved out. Natalie called me the next day confirming that we moved out and closed out our account. Super helpful, super friendly, and honestly made the whole process way smoother than expected. 10/10 service—and her vibe alone could probably convince you to rent space you don’t even need (but hey, at least you’d enjoy the experience). Now, to be honest, the other reviews here leave me all but flabbergasted. Our experience was super clear and transparent—especially when it came to pricing. They let us know upfront that rates may increase every six months, based on market conditions, but they also said they’d give 30 days’ notice. It’s not like they’re springing a 60% increase on you overnight. And with a competitor literally across the street, I mean… market competition is real. If you’ve had a rough time, I get it—everyone’s experience is different. But mine? Nothing like the drama I’ve seen in some of these comments. Also, for those upset about changes under new management: hate to break it to you, but that’s standard across literally every business. Policies shift with new leadership, and it’s on us as customers to keep up. TL;DR – Natalie rocks, the service was great, and some of y’all might just need a deep breath and a reality check. ?

I recently had the pleasure of working with Natalie at Self Storage Plus on Plyers Mill Road, and she was truly amazing! We had an issue with a reservation that a third-party rental service messed up, but Natalie stepped in and went above and beyond to help us. Despite being a new employee (only 30 days on the job!), she handled everything with professionalism and a smile. She even stayed past her shift to ensure everything was resolved, coordinating with her corporate office to get the situation sorted out. Her dedication and positive attitude made a stressful situation much easier. I can’t thank her enough for her exceptional customer service! Highly recommend! ??????????

Edit: Summary – Original experience was good, rent increase was very bad/absurd, customer service via Michael was very good, company business practices are very sketchy and/or concerning. See below for details. Shortly after leaving this review, the company responded, which you can see in the replies. I was out of the country at the time, but the District Manager, Michael, reached out to me and set up a time to speak over the phone once I was back. During this phone call, we discussed the content of my review, my frustrations, etc. and Michael in turn explained the company’s policies that guide rental rates and increases. During this conversation, Michael noticed that the 56% increase in rent was not in line with these policies and that it should have been an approximately 20% increase (from $138/month to $165/month). He changed my rental rate back to what it was before the increase, charged the difference between the original rate and the increased rate as credit to my next payment, agreed to maintain the original rate until the end of 2025, and to converse over any concerns regarding automatic rent increases from now until then. I’m obviously very pleased both with these changes and with Michael’s professionalism in reaching out to me to resolve the issue, but the fact that a similarly unconventional increase has happened to many other people is still a point of significant concern to future customers. Either someone somewhere else in the company is sneaking in these larger rent increases, the company’s automatic system is not very good, or it is the business practice of the company to try to sneak these much larger rent increases in and hope that the customer either doesn’t notice or doesn’t say anything and only make amends when called out on it. In light of all this, I’ve changed my rating from 1/5 stars to 3/5 stars. The situation was bad, Michael was great, I’m still suspicious of the company overall. Original Review: Long review incoming, so to make it short for those looking to see if you should store your belongings here, you should not. If you use Self Storage Plus, you can expect to receive a 56% increase in the cost of your unit within 4 to 6 months of your start date, which is what they did to me. This company will email you all the papers and forms you need to start renting your unit as well as your monthly receipts, but when they inform you of the charge increase, they will send a small 4×6 inch piece of paper mail telling you of the increase about 1-2 weeks before the date of the increase. To be clear, this is the company’s business strategy. There are a multitude of reviews left here that talk about the same issue, one as recent as two weeks ago and some as far back as 2 years, when Self Storage Plus purchased the location from the previous owners. I assume they do it because if a customer doesn’t notice the company gets a serious increase in revenue. See Seth Lachowsky’s review from February of 2025 (2 months before this review) where his rent was increased by 56% within a 6 month window, Jason Wheeler’s review from 6 months ago describing a 25% increase every 6 months, Margaret DC’s review from 1 year before this one, Claire Tart’s review where her rent has increased $200 in just a few years (also 1 year previous to this review), and J’s review from 6 months ago describing 3 substantial increases within 1 year. KF K got a 34% price increase 5 months ago. Curtis Hartmann got a 40% increase from his review 2 years ago. Also see John Green’s review from early April (2 week before this one) as his increase in rent happened at the same time as mine. Basically, 2 years ago this location got purchased by Self Storage Plus and it has employed predatory practices since then. If you had asked me what I would have rated this company 2 weeks ago I would have given a very different review. It was fairly simple to see some free units, get the paperwork filed, and move in. The people working the front desk were perfectly normal employees providing perfectly normal service.

I will give this place two stars instead of one because their facility is neat and clean, the rental process was quick and easy, and the person I worked with was friendly and helpful. HOWEVER, I do not recommend this place because you absolutely cannot trust their rates. I rented a unit 15 months ago at $237/mo, and my rent has been raised twice — only 4 months after the initial rental it went up to $327/mo, and this month it increased again to $402/mo. I didn’t receive proper notification of either increase; I only found out after I saw my increased bill for the month. A 70% increase in the charge for a storage unit is highway robbery. They take advantage of people because it’s difficult and costly to have to move a whole bunch of stuff from one unit to another, so they figure they can just gouge you and you’ll take it. I’m so angry that I ever have this company my money; I strongly recommend that you don’t. EDITED TO ADD: I didn’t realize this before I posted my review, but apparently MANY people have had this same experience! Taking my rating down to one star because this kind of repeated terrible business practice is appalling.

No. Self storage plus should stop playing games with pricing. I wouldn’t be so angry if it was a more reasonable storage rent increase, like 10%. But 56% ! You are just wasting customers time. I do not recommend this self storage plus unless you want them to play pricing games with you. Just Ridiculous Greed.

Where do I even begin? Natalie is completely unhelpful. She’ll say whatever just to get you out of her hair and doesn’t actually care about your situation. First off, she’s still pretty new. I asked her to cancel a unit because I was moving out, and she said she would take care of it. Well, she forgot, and I ended up getting charged for an extra month. I had to contact my bank just to get my money back! Then, I moved into a different unit, but found out the same day that it wasn’t going to work for the elderly lady I was helping store her belongings. When I asked Natalie for a refund (mind you, it hadn’t even been 3 hours since I got the unit), she flat-out refused. No refunds. Save yourself the trouble and go anywhere else!

Paid for a service I never received. I reserved the unit and spoke with Ali the same day I made the reservation, and he assured me that my fiance could stop by and start dropping things off at the storage unit the next day as long as she had the access code and her own lock. He mentioned he needed a copy of my photo ID, which I offered to email in to him. He stated that is not necessary and that whenever I had a chance to stop by and provide it, even if it was after my fiance came by, that would be fine. We all arrived at the facility the next day after the office had closed and we were able to get in with the gate code provided, but when we arrive at the storage unit, it was locked. We had rented a UHaul truck and everything, but had to go drop everything back off at our house. Money and time wasted. I called the next day, but the manager was not in. The only person that was in that day was someone from another location who was covering the office that day, and he didn’t have the authority to provide any reimbursement. I was promised a call back from the manager the next day (which never happened). I called back two days later and spoke with Ali again and he stated that my fiance should have come during office hours and stopped by the office. When I mentioned to him that he had not made any mention of that when I spoke with him previously and that he had assured me she could stop by at any time provided she had her own lock, he cut me off and started yelling and refused to take any responsibility for what happened. Further, he refused to offer any reimbursement for the truck we had rented in order to bring stuff by, even though the mistake/miscommunication was solely on his part. I promptly cancelled my reservation, but no refund was provided. Terrible customer service and outright incompetence, specifically regarding Ali. No skills in customer service or communication whatsoever. I can’t speak of any others as he is the only one I spoke with aside from the person who was covering from another location. Avoid this place, there are significantly better options nearby.

I’m sad that my experience ended in a VERY SHADY way … I’ve used this storage area for years but after it was sold to the new owners the price went up A LOT and the quality of service went down. I was told by a former general manager that they were pro-rated if I moved out a couple of days late. I also called to say I may not be out on time but may be a couple of days late. No one ever said anything about no pro-rating. When I took my last chair out 2 days after my due date and showed the new general manager a picture of the empty storage area, she told me that I had to pay for another full month. I was shocked since no one said anything about this while I was communicating with them in the weeks up to my move out. Since they didn’t have my credit card on file I said good luck. As I walked out the door she said I could pay for 2 days. The price she gave me was a lot more than 2 days worth but I paid it since it would hopefully end this drama. Since I don’t trust them with my checking account or credit card numbers, I paid with a money order and returned their key. She said I would get a receipt in 24 hours, which I also find suspicious so I took a picture of my record on her computer screen which did say I had moved out and owed nothing but also still has the current month’s charge on it. I felt her attitude was rather condescending and still don’t trust that they won’t try to mar my credit rating or try to get a judgement against me. Therefore I’m ready in case they continue to try to further their shady tactics, which would not be fair since the space is clearly rentable. Management, please do not respond to me… Just leave me alone and stop trying to jip me out of money.
